Grim Tarock

The Grim Tarock – A deck of 78 tarot-sized cards.

“Yesterday is ashes, tomorrow is wood. Only today does the fire burn brightly.”

Eskimo proverb

The majority of images used to create this Grim Tarock, so called, are from ‘Yesterday’. Not ashes in the words of the proverb, but certainly the lingering after-burn of old and sometimes forgotten endeavours. Dusted off, mixed with things new, they are now rekindled to burn brightly once again.

Tomorrow, wind and fog permitting, there will be something new, something exciting, another project in the making.

We sincerely hope the Grim Tarock in all its constituent parts, both excites and pleases you, and even more, sparks transports of your very own, to places and spaces, beyond common imagining.

I would like to thank James Sheriff for suggesting this project in the first place, and for doing such a brilliant job of stage managing it all. Thank you James!

And, as ever, my wife Jenny for putting up with me for so long, and last but not least, Eddy the dog for reminding me of where I was, am, and might be tomorrow.

Don’t get lost…
